ANZ expects flat 2009
Wednesday, March 25, 2009
ANZ has delivered a trading update to investors, reiterating its expectations of a flat 2009.
The bank has forecast cash earnings for this fiscal year will be around 2008 levels.
But it says underlying businesses are performing well, despite a difficult environment.
And ANZ say deposit growth across its Australian operations has been strong.
Meantime, the bank is forecasting deeper cuts in Australian interest rates this year, predicting rates will hit 2 per cent in the second half of the 2009.
