ANZ jobs reported to go off-shore
Tuesday, March 24, 2009
ANZ has reportedly told staff 100 call centre jobs are moving to New Zealand, as it looks to transition to an Asia-focused bank.
The Sydney Morning Herald says no jobs will actually be cut, rather the bank will simply not replace staff at its Melbourne based call centres, counting on an annual attrition of about 30 per cent.
The news comes after the bank confirmed two weeks ago that 500 back-office positions would be moved to India in 2009.
