To do this you must achieve a minimum standard of education in the Mortgage & Finance Industry, which is Certificate IV in Financial Services (Finance/Mortgage Broking - FNS40804).

Without the Certificate IV in Mortgage Broking, you will be unable to become accredited with lenders or the industry associations such as, the Mortgage and Finance Association of Australia, MFAA and the Finance Brokers Association of Australia - FBAA.

* Lending Fundamentals and Ethics: The Initial Assessment; The Eight C’s of Credit; Employment/Income Considerations; Qualifying Rates; Debt Servicing Ratio (DSR); Net Servicing Ratio (NSR); Loan to Value Ratio (LVR); Lender’s Mortgage Insurance (LMI); Loan Serviceability Calculators.

* The Loan Process – From Interview to Settlement: Client Needs Analysis; The Application; Submission and Approval; Settlement; Roles of Each Party; Residential Mortgage Process Diagram; Record Keeping; Filing Systems;

This is the starting point for your career as an Accredited Mortgage Broker.
